7 Escape: War for Survival has unveiled its opening title and mug shots of the characters portraying villains in the series.
7 Escape is a revenge K-drama centered around seven people entangled in the disappearance of a girl, intertwined with numerous lies and desires. Screenwriter Kim Soon Ok - known for the hit dramas The Last Empress and The Penthouse: War in Life series - and The Penthouse director Joo Dong Min, are joining hands again to bring another sensational series.
The opening title, released a week ahead of the premiere, captivates viewers with its striking visuals. People, seemingly entranced by something, receive identical inputs, their eyes and ears covered. Messages conveyed by these individuals flow through crimson threads to a destination.
The significance of a single hand clutching a blood-stained beanie amidst the entangled hands is intriguing, symbolizing destruction when gripped in anger.
Subsequently, the seven villains make their appearance. Their statuesque figures atop a tower built on the foundation of greed are spine-tingling. The characters include Geum Ra Hee (Hwang Jung Eum), who is obsessed with money and success, "Everyone's Star" Han Mo Ne (Lee Yoo Bi), who conceals a fatal flaw behind a charming smile, and Min Do Hyuk (Lee Joon), engulfed in flames. The other villains are equally formidable. Yang Jin Mo (Yoon Jong Hoon) observes the situation with sharp knives and hidden snakes; Cha Joo Ran (Shin Eun Kyung), an OB-GYN ready to betray at any moment; high school teacher Go Myung Ji (Jo Yoon Hee); and, adding to the intrigue, Deokseon Police Station detective chief Nam Chul Woo (Jo Jae Yoon); and Taebaek Entertainment CEO Kang Ki Tak (Yoon Tae Young ). Each villain grapples with their own fears.
The one who gathers these villains, driven by greed and desire, is "The Condemner", Matthew Lee (Uhm Ki Joon). The seven characters converge on a massive game board meticulously designed by The Condemner.
Expectations are high for the unusual alliance of these seven characters in their quest for survival, as well as the unexpected twists in this thriller revenge drama.
7 Escape is set to premiere on September 15th (Friday), taking over the time slot of The First Responders Season 2. Watch the opening title below.
