"Chief Detective 1958" Climbs Back to Double-Digit Ratings
Expectations are building for the unique dynamics between Ji Chang Wook, Wi Ha Joon, and Im Se Mi in the Disney+ original series The Worst of Evil, as they are set to lay the cornerstone for everything within the intricacies of the case.
In the series, Park Joon Mo (Ji Chang Wook) and Jung Ki Chul (Wi Ha Joon) are poised to deliver an explosive clash, as an undercover agent determined to dismantle the Asian tri-country drug cartel, and as an organization leader relentlessly pursuing success at any cost, respectively.
Following their fiery initial encounter, the transformation of Joon Mo, and Ki Chul, from a place of trust and suspicion is expected to become a central focal point of the drama.
Director Han Dong Wook also emphasized the significance of their relationship, stating, "The crux of it all was their connection," and he added, "I hoped for the characters' emotions to shine more brightly than technical prowess in the action sequences".
With the inclusion of Yoo Eui Jung (Im Se Mi), an elite police officer who also happens to be Joon Mo's wife and Ki Chul's first love, the intricacies of their interwoven relationships promise to immerse viewers.
Actor Wi Ha Joon, embracing a new dimension of his acting as Ki Chul, commented, "There are a lot of spectacular, rough, and dazzling action sequences, but paying attention to the intricate details, nuanced performances, and the tension between the characters will provide an enjoyable and profound viewing experience".
