The long-awaited K-drama D.P. Season 2 is, at last, preparing for release.

The second season of the Netflix series D.P. (Deserter Pursuit) continues the story of Ahn Joon Ho (Jung Hae In) and Han Ho Yul (Koo Kyo Hwan), members of the defector arrest unit (D.P.), as they confront the unchanging reality and injustice that prevails in the military.

Released in August 2021, D.P. received widespread acclaim and love from viewers for its refreshing premise, compelling characters, and outstanding performances by the cast. The series sharply highlights the violence and absurdity prevalent within the military, serving as a reflection of societal issues. D.P. was also honoured as one of The New York Times' Top 10 International TV Shows in 2021 and received accolades including the Best TV Drama award at the 58th Baeksang Arts Awards and the Best Drama award at the Blue Dragon Series Awards, solidifying its recognition both domestically and internationally for its artistic excellence.

The recently unveiled Season 2 launching poster, gives a glimpse of the absurdity and tragedy that prevails in the military. With blood splattered everywhere, and a military uniform hanging, the poster indicates that injustice and cruelty are still rooted in the military.

Season 2 resumes in a reality where little has changed despite the numerous events that unfolded in season 1. Jung Hae In, reprising his role as Ahn Joon Ho, commented, "It is a continuation of Season 1. There are still unfinished stories and there are things to be resolved, so you will be able to see a more intense and deeper drama". This statement further fuels curiosity about the continuing journey of the D.P. squad.

D.P. Season 2 is set to premiere on Netflix on July 28.
