“The Midnight Romance in Hagwon” Issues Apology after Viewers Point Out the DUI Scene
KakaoTV gave their official statement on the news of the drama "Bungee Jumping of Their Own" being canceled.
On December 9th, reports stated that the upcoming KakaoTV drama "Bungee Jumping of Their Own" starring NCT's Jeong Jae Hyun and actor Lee Hyun Wook will not proceed in production.
An official from Kakao Entertainment gave their side and confirmed the reports that the drama is now canceled. The agency shared that in the process of preparing for the production, they had a thorough discussion with the original screenwriter about the remake of the series. After exchanging insights, they have decided to stop the production and respect the writer's opinion based on his belief.
"Bungee Jumping of Their Own" is a movie that premiered in 2001 with main leads Lee Byung Hun and Lee Eun Joo. The film narrated the story of a high school teacher and a student who has the same behavior as his dead girlfriend. The remake drama was supposed to be directed by Director Kim Jong Hyeok ( "Spring Day") and ("God's Quiz: Reboot.")
Jeong Jae Hyun was supposed to play the role of Im Hyun Bin, the male student who resembles the dead girlfriend of Lee Hyun Wook's character Seo In Woo.
This will be the second time that Jeong Jae Hyun's drama got affected by either cancellation or indefinite premiere. First, his supposed to be drama debut "Dear.M," got postponed because of an issue regarding his co-worker. Then this drama that was supposed to be his official debut in the drama scene is now canceled.
Meanwhile, his group NCT 2020 will release a new album on December 14th.
Although "Bungee Jumping of Their Own" is now canceled, Lee Hyun Wook still has two upcoming dramas. The actor will star in the upcoming dramas "The Bride of Black" and "Thief: The Sound of the Sword." He is also part of the upcoming film "The Policeman's Lineage."
