Kim Min Ki will be added to the cast of the upcoming tvN drama "Umbrella."
On August 29th, it was confirmed that Kim Min Ki will be joining the historical drama "Umbrella." He will play the role of Prince Bo Geom, a smart and model student who's always first place in school even without a tutor.
"Umbrella" will showcase the journey of the queen who will do her best to make her troublemaker princes into decent crown princes.
The series will be led by Kim Hye Soo, Kim Hae Sook, Choi Won Young, Kim Eui Sung, Moon Sang Min, SF9's Chani, Ok Ja Yeon, Kim Ga Eun, Yoo Sun Ho, and more.
Kim Hye Soo will play the role of the queen named Im Hwa Ryeong. She is the mother of the troublemaker princes that are the headache of the royal family. Unlike the usual queens, Im Hwa Ryeong is a sensitive and hot-tempered one. Whatever trials she will face, she withstands them all for the sake of her children.
It will be directed by Kim Hyung Shik ("Twenty Again," "Secret Door," and "The Suspicious Housekeeper") and written by Park Bara.
"Umbrella" will reportedly premiere this October. It will exclusively air on tvN.
Kim Min Ki made his acting debut in 2020. He is best known for starring in the dramas "True Beauty" and "Racket Boys."
"Umbrella" will be his first project for 2022. Last year, the actor was busy with three dramas. He first appeared as one of the main leads in "Racket Boys." He also appeared in the web series "Adult Trainee" by TVING.
Kim Min Ki also starred in his first ever historical drama in 2021 through the series "The King of Tears, Lee Bang Won." He worked alongside Joo Sang Wook, Kim Yeong Cheol, Park Jin Hee, Ye Ji Won, Uhm Hyo Sub, Kim Myung Soo, Ye Soo Jung, and more.
