"Chief Detective 1958" Climbs Back to Double-Digit Ratings
KBS's upcoming drama My Lovely Boxer, Kwon Sook, is based on the novel "Sunjeongbokseo Ikwonsuk" by Choo Jong Nam, which won second prize at the Kyobo Book Centre Story Contest. The story revolves around the genius boxer Lee Kwon Sook and cold-blooded sports agent Kim Tae Young.
In the K-drama, Kim So Hye takes on the challenging role of Lee Kwon Sook, a genius boxer who emerged as a boxing star at the age of 17. 
Lee Kwon Sook is a woman with unwavering determination, forged through the rigorous training imposed by her father, Lee Cheol Yong (Kim Hyung Mook). Just before an important match, Lee Kwon Sook disappears without a trace and later crosses paths with the sports agent Kim Tae Young (Lee Sang Yeob).
In the recently-unveiled stills, we catch a glimpse of Lee Kwon Sook's athlete days and the life she later leads as a kindergarten teacher. Kim So Hye's portrayal of the brilliant boxer Lee Kwon Sook is nothing short of praise-worthy. Her commanding presence and piercing gaze, as she fights in the ring and does warm-ups, portray her boxing spirit. 
However, another still showcases a striking contrast to the previous stills as Kim So Hye becomes a kindergarten teacher. Dressed in an elegant hanbok with a warm smile on her face, she takes on a completely different persona. This piques curiosity about why Lee Kwon Sook, once a prodigious boxer, becomes a kindergarten teacher, disappearing from the ring.
The production team of the K-drama expressed their admiration, stating, "From the very first scene, Kim So Hye flawlessly embodies the relentless drive of the boxing star Lee Kwon Sook. She has put in extraordinary efforts for her character and dedicated extensive time and effort to exercise and boxing training in preparation for this role. We can anticipate her exceptional acting skills as she deftly portrays the complex emotions of Lee Kwon Sook, a genius boxer who left the ring".
