Bai Lu and Wang Xing Yue's upcoming C-drama is more than just a mystery thriller
Disney+ teases with new stills from its upcoming K-drama Vigilante.
On October 25, Disney+ unveiled the character stills featuring Kim So Jin, who plays the role of reporter Choi Mi Ryeo in Vigilante.
Choi Mi Ryeo is a broadcast reporter who discovers a common thread of personal retribution in recent crime cases she was investigating and becomes the first to introduce the vigilante to the world.
She accurately determines what the public desires and continues her coverage of the vigilante with unyielding determination.
It is reported that actress Kim So Jin worked meticulously with director Choi Jeong Yeol to build her character from head to toe, covering every aspect, including makeup and costumes, all while keeping in mind the originality of the character from the webtoon. To be in sync with her role as a reporter, she also paid attention to her speaking style.
Kim So Jin stated, "She [Choi Mi Ryeo] is an attractive character, instilled with boldness and courage, not yielding under any circumstances. I felt curious about Choi Mi Ryeo, who possesses atypical and extraordinary qualities."
The actress also said she wanted to respect the original character while attempting a new interpretation as an actor. Being someone who boldly pushes boundaries, she challenged herself with a new transformation by dying her hair fiery red and strived to portray the relentless determination of a pursuer.
Director Choi Jeong Yeol praised Kim So Jin, saying, "Kim So Jin is an actress with the power to lock people's attention. I thought it would be very interesting to reinterpret the character of Choi Mi Ryeo with her confident vibes. I was truly amazed by her acting."
Vigilante will premiere exclusively on Disney+ on November 8.
