Kim So Yeon Starts "A Virtuous Business" in the Upcoming K-Drama

A Virtuous Business unveiled stills featuring its lead actress Kim So Yeon.

A Virtuous Business depicts the story of four women who ventured into door-to-door sales of adult products in a rural village in 1992. The drama focuses on the independence, growth, and friendship of these women. 

Kim So Yeon plays the lead role of Han Jeong Suk, a simple housewife. 

Jeong Suk's married life with Kwon Seong Su (Choi Jae Rim), her first love, has been exactly as her husband desired — reserved and passive. Her understanding of sex at the time wasn't much different. For Jeong Suk, sex was uncomfortable, something not to be honest about, and something she should suppress. However, things take a turn when her husband Seong Su becomes insincere to the family, and she can't even afford a new backpack for her son. 

This prompts Jeong Suk to jump into the business of selling adult products door-to-door. Though she starts with the realization that she needs to earn her own money, she soon discovers her untapped talent for marketing.

In the stills, we can sense this change in Jeong Suk. While she seems dispirited in front of her husband Seong Su, who appears to have been in yet another fight, a different side of her shines through as she diligently takes notes, learns the business, and beams with pride as she holds the payment for selling her products. It's as though her beauty, once neglected after marriage, is blossoming again.

Jeong Suk's journey of helping women embrace their honest sexual desires and fostering more active and healthy marriages through her product's sales, while simultaneously growing into her own life, is one of the key points of interest in this drama.

A Virtuous Business will premiere sometime in October. More news about the K-drama's OTT service is yet to come.
