"Queen of Tears" Park Sung Hoon: "Poverty and a sense of inferiority became the driving force"
The production team of the Genie TV original drama Lies Hidden in My Garden unveiled two character teasers on May 30, featuring Kim Tae Hee and Im Ji Yeon.
Kim Tae Hee plays the role of Joo Ran, who leads a seemingly perfect life as a housewife. But she finds her world falling apart when the smell of a corpse emanates from the backyard.
The first teaser commences with Joo Ran saying, "I remember that stench", with a gaze filled with terror, intriguing viewers with her inquisitive glance. The following scenes portray the chaos that engulfs her. She forcefully digs a shovel into the backyard soil and fearfully peers beyond the curtains, leaving lingering questions. She is also seen locking hands with Sang Eun. The teaser ends with Joo Ran's wild laughter as she stands in the backyard.

Whereas, Im Ji Yeon plays the role of Sang Eun, a victim of domestic violence yearning to break free from her hellish reality.
Im Ji Yeon's teaser was equally captivating. It commences with Sang Eun dryly saying in the background, "My husband is dead", while the scene shows her cleaning glass off the floor from her broken wedding picture. What follows are brief flashes of scenes portraying the strong presence of Sang Eun and the intriguing circumstances that surround her. The teaser ends with Sang Eun in mourning clothes eating an apple, and her voice in the background questioning, "Have you ever killed someone?".
Lies Hidden in My Garden will premiere on June 19. International fans will be able to stream the K-drama on Prime Video.
