In the upcoming 15th episode of King the Land, which will air on August 5th, Gu Won (Lee Jun Ho) finally reunites with his mother, Han Mi So (Nam Ki Ae), and shares their unfinished story.

Gu Won had developed a trauma related to fake smiles due to memories of his mother, Han Mi So, who suddenly disappeared during childhood. However, after meeting Cheon Sa Rang (Im Yoon Ah), he gradually regained his ability to smile. After hearing from Han Mi So's friend why she had to leave, Gu Won vowed not to think about his mother and tried to push away his remaining emotions.
However, when Sa Rang is suddenly transferred to King Tourist Hotel and disappears, and Gu Won sees the face of a staff member smiling falsely, memories of the day his mother disappeared came flooding back. Filled with a complex mix of remorse and anger for not keeping his promise to protect her, Gu Won leaves King the Land. Just as he steps out, his mother, Han Mi So, appears before him, causing him to halt. The circumstances behind Han Mi So's sudden appearance before Gu Won leave the audience curious and intrigued.
Amidst this situation, photos of their reunion on set have been released. In the images, Gu Won and Han Mi So face each other. Han Mi So's eyes are longing as she gazes at her well-grown son, while Gu Won's expression remains cold. An awkward atmosphere lingers between them as they finally sit down face to face after a long time.
Of particular interest is the sight of Gu Won shedding tears silently. Unlike his previously stoic demeanor towards Han Mi So, his saddened expression evokes sympathy. Fans are eagerly anticipating the conversation that will unfold between the two after their complicated reunion.
The 15th episode of King the Land on JTBC, where the full story of the fateful day will be revealed, will air on August 5th at 10:30 PM KST.
