Lee Chae Min may replace Park Sung Hoon in the upcoming tvN K-drama The Tyrant's Chef.

On January 13, media outlets reported that tvN has picked Park Sung Hoon's replacement as the male lead of The Tyrant's Chef and it's none other than rising actor Lee Chae Min.

Lee Chae Min's agency Gold Medalist responded to the casting reports. According to them, "Lee Chae Min received the offer to portray the male lead role in the upcoming K-drama The Tyrant's Chef. He is positively reviewing it."

Park Sung Hoon was supposed to be the male lead of Im Yoon Ah in the upcoming K-drama. However, on January 12, the actor officially stepped down from the series because of his recent controversy.

The Tyrant's Chef was supposed to hold its first script reading on January 16, but it has been temporarily canceled due to the changes in the casting. According to the production team of the K-drama, the new script reading schedule is still under discussion.

Meanwhile, if Lee Chae Min decides to join the series, this will be his fourth upcoming K-drama project. He will also star in the new K-dramas Cashero, Crushology 101, and I Believe You

The Tyrant's Chef will depict its story from  Park Kook Jae's web novel of the same name. It will be about a chef who time-travels to the past while she is at the peak of her career. She meets the worst King, who is a great gourmet.

The K-drama will be the next project of director Jang Tae Yoo who also created the works Knight Flower, Lovers of the Red Sky, Hyena, My Love from the Star, 101st Proposal, and more.

Aside from Im Yoon Ah, actress Kang Han Na will also join the cast of the series.

The Tyrant's Chef will reportedly have a total of 12 episodes and it will premiere on tvN in 2025.
