Lee Ha Nee comments on the reasons she chose to act in the K-drama Knight Flower.

Living as a widow for fifteen years, Cho Yeo Hwa wears a mask and goes out of her house to help people.

Lee Ha Nee stated, "The script was really fun. The concept of a widow leading a double life was very attractive and a fresh theme, which led me to choose this project." She further defined her character, Cho Yeo Hwa, as a multi-faceted person.

She explained, "Yeo Hwa can easily cross the wall, but initially, she doesn't dare. However, once she gathers the courage and crosses it one time, a new [phase of] life begins. Similarly, people have walls in their hearts they think they can't cross. I thought breaking down those walls within oneself and actually doing it was characteristic of Yeo Hwa."

Lee Ha Nee also stated, "I felt that the character Cho Yeo Hwa is like a modern woman who was supposed to live in the 21st century but ended up living in the Joseon Dynasty, getting into the wrong era. While portraying such a character, I thought of a woman trying to overcome the constraints of the times. I also contemplated how I would have been if I was [born] in that era."

The actress added, "While Yeo Hwa can live a refined life, she cannot tolerate injustices against the people unprotected by the law. In a way, she seems more progressive and just than I am."

Lee Ha Nee didn't forget to urge viewers to tune in. The actress said, "Though it's a historical drama, I believe a new genre has emerged. It's going to be filled with so much excitement that it feels like an extraordinary historical drama. Please watch it with interest."

Knight Flower is scheduled to premiere on January 12. Watch the latest teaser here
