Lee Jong Suk will reportedly return to K-dramas after two years.
On November 22, Lee Jong Suk's side officially responded to the circulating casting reports of the actor.
According to Lee Jong Suk's representative, "Lee Jong Suk received the offer to lead the upcoming K-drama I'm Against My Romance and he is positively reviewing it."
I'm Against My Romance will be the next work of director Lee Eung Bok who is known for helming the hit K-dramas Sweet Home, Mr. Sunshine, Goblin, and Descendants of the Sun.
The upcoming K-drama will tell about the reunion romance story of two ex-lovers. The story will unfold when two ex-lovers decide to reunite and rediscover if the relationship is just a continuation or if it's the start of an unfamiliar new relationship.
Aside from Lee Jong Suk, actress Go Min Si got the offer to be the female lead. Previously, actor Choi Hyun Wook got an offer to be the male lead but because of schedule conflicts, he turned down the K-drama.
Lee Jong Suk received the offer to play the lead role named Kim Tae Kyung. He is known for his great instincts and righteous character. Go Min Si on the other hand will reportedly play the character named Hong Je Bi.
I'm Against My Romance will reportedly be broadcast on tvN in 2024.
If Lee Jong Suk confirmed his casting, this would be his comeback K-drama after two years. He last starred in the 2022 series Big Mouth with Girls Generation's Im Yoon Ah, Kim Joo Heon, Kwak Dong Yeon, Yang Kyung Won, and Ok Ja Yeon.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Lee Jong Suk will be making his own production company and he will also sign to a new agency. According to reports, Lee Jong Suk is currently discussing with the agency ACE FACTORY his future plans.
Lee Jong Suk didn't appear in any acting gigs for this year. Many are already anticipating his next upcoming project.
