Troll Factory tells the story of journalist Im Sang Jin (Son Suk Ku) who has been suspended after he wrote a negative report about a large corporation. He then receives a tip about a comment unit/troll farm called Team Alley, which manipulates online public opinion. As he uncovers the secrets of the comment unit, he faces a shocking reality.
The teaser begins by showing news reports about a comment unit that is alleged to manipulate public opinion using hundreds of IDs. Im Sang Jin sits deeply absorbed in thought as numerous news reports swiftly pass by.
Someone says, "That's just the way we made it." Im Sang Jin begins his research. He says, "And this story begins with this person's report."
Son Suk Ku (A Killer Paradox, D.P., My Liberation Notes) takes on the role of journalist Im Sang Jin, a reporter who, to get reinstated after he was fired for writing a negative article about large corporations, seeks to uncover the truth of the comment unit.
Kim Sung Cheol (Hellbound Season 2, Arthdal Chronicles Part 3: The Prelude to All Legends, Do You Like Brahms?) plays the role of Jjing Ppeot King, a member of Team Alley with mental agility.
Kim Dong Hwi (Stranger Season 2, Missing: The Other Side Season 2, The Deal) plays Chat Tat Kat as the anonymous writer who weaves captivating stories and the informant who reveals the existence of the comment unit.
Hong Kyung (Revenant, Weak Hero Class 1) plays Paep Taek, who becomes increasingly immersed in manipulating online public opinion.
