The Netflix series Severe Trauma Center: Golden Hour tells the story of Baek Kang Hyuk, a brilliant trauma surgeon who used to navigate war zones, taking charge of a financially struggling trauma team at a prestigious university hospital. He transforms the team, known for its lack of success, into a real-life critical care center that saves lives despite accumulating deficits.

The original web novel gained popularity and was also serialized as a webtoon on Naver, receiving much love. The struggles of Baek Kang Hyuk, who possesses a bulldozer-like personality as strong as his sense of duty, and the growth of his team members, as well as the active participation of the critical care team rushing to the scene in desperate situations, will provide various elements of excitement.

Joo Ji Hoon, a leading actor who showcased the status of K-content worldwide with the Netflix series Kingdom, will play the role of Baek Kang Hyuk, a genius doctor overflowing with confidence. He will portray the character's unstoppable charm as a relentless bulldozer who doesn't compromise with reality.

Choo Young Woo, who gained attention for his roles in School 2021 and Oasis, has been cast as Yang Jae Won, who becomes Baek Kang Hyuk's first disciple and embarks on a challenging life in trauma surgery.

Yoon Kyung Ho, known for his performances in Honest Candidate and Itaewon Class, will portray Han Yoo Rim, a professor of proctology who has his apprentice, Jae-won, taken away by Kang Hyuk. He will keep a watchful eye on Kang Hyuk with a hint of hostility.

Ha Young, actively engaged in projects such as Now, We Are Breaking Up and Mouse, will take on the role of Cheon Jang Mi, a dedicated nurse in the critical care team.

Jung Jae Gwang, who made a strong impression as the youngest detective in The Roundup after winning the Best New Actor award at the 42nd Blue Dragon Film Awards in 2021, will play the role of Park Kyung Won, a resident who is on the verge of a specialist examination and handles all kinds of wicked surgeries with an anesthesiologist.

Director Lee Do Yoon, who previously collaborated with Joo Ji Hoon in Confession, will be directing the series, and writer Choi Tae Kang from  Adamas will participate in the screenplay.
