Netflix has officially confirmed the production of a new series titled Melo Movie and unveiled its lineup on February 22.
Melo Movie is about youths who want to dream, inspire and rely on one another, and overcome their traumas.
The K-drama will be directed by Oh Choong Hwan (My Love from the Star, Doctors, While You Were Sleeping, Hotel del Luna, Start-Up, Big Mouth, Castaway Diva), and the screenplay will be penned by Our Beloved Summer Lee Na Eun.
Melo Movie stars Choi Woo Shik, Park Bo Young, Lee Jun Young, Jeon So Nee, and Kim Jae Wook.
Choi Woo Sik plays Ko Gyeom, a man who goes from being a supporting actor to a film critic. He loves movies to the extent that he dreams of watching every movie ever made. He becomes very curious about Kim Moo Bi, whose name sounds like "movie".
Park Bo Young takes on the role of Kim Moo Bi, a character who steps into the film industry feeling a mixture of love and hatred for her father — who valued movies more than anything — and thinking, "What's so special about movies."
Ko Gyeom, a man who stands out too much, suddenly barges into the life of Kim Moo Bi, who wants to live quietly in the world, and brings about change.
Lee Jun Young transforms into Hong Si Jun, who prides himself on being a genius but lives as an unknown composer. Jeon So Nee portrays Son Joo Ah, Hong Si-joon's ex and a screenwriter.
Melo Movie will be released on Netflix.
