Surprise! A popular Canadian TV show Orphan Black is getting a Japanese remake of the same title this December. Tokai TV's remake will start airing on December 2nd and it will have 8 episodes in total.

What is more interesting is that the main female role has been given to a Korean actress Kang Ji Young, famous for being an ex-member of KARA. She debuted in Japan a few years ago, both as an actress and singer.  Check out the official site for more information.

The plot is identical to the original one:

Aoyama Sara was an orphan and is now a single mother. She has suffered  through poverty, lack of understanding from society and other problems that led to her being separated from her daughter. She believes that if she has money, her life will change. One day, Sara sees a woman killing herself by jumping in front of a train. The woman who jumped looks just like her doppelgänger. Sara is stunned, but takes the woman's bag. Since then, her life takes an unpredictable turn.
