Actors Park Shin Hye and Park Hyung Sik opened up about acting in school uniforms.

On January 25, an online press conference for Doctor Slump was held. It was attended by director Oh Hyun Jong and actors Park Shin Hye, Park Hyung Sik, Yoon Park, and Kong Seong Ha.

About wearing school uniforms in the K-drama, Park Shin Hye said, "To be honest, when Hyung Sik and I were wearing school uniforms to explain the background in flashback scenes, I thought we would only have to wear them briefly in episodes 1 and 2. However, as the flashback scenes continued, I had to keep wearing it. So, I had to wear a school uniform for quite some time during filming, so I had thoughts like, 'Is this right?'."

She added, "At that time, I met minor actors on the set and I asked everyone their ages. It turned out that most of them had just graduated from high school or were currently high school students. So, we said among ourselves, 'I think we should stop wearing (school uniforms) now."

The actress further expressed, "I felt really guilty. Everyone around me kept saying, 'You still look good in a school uniform.'" Park Hyung Sik also chimed in, saying, "I felt like I was sinning for no reason."

Park Shin Hye also shared her thoughts on returning to acting after three years since her marriage and childbirth.

She said, "I wanted to do something I do best." "When I read the script, I could relate a lot to the character Ha Neul. When selecting a project, I also have criteria that it should be comfortable for people around me or my friends to watch. Ha Neul suffers from burnout. Then comes depression, and when we say depression, it feels like we have to overcome it in an extraordinary way, but isn't happiness always nearby? Since I've experienced such things myself, I thought that if I were to play Ha Neul, who overcomes it [the problems] through small and simple joys, I could naturally pull it off well."

As Doctor Slump is Park Shin Hye's first project after marriage, she talked about her experience, saying, "My mindset when it comes to acting is always the same, so it feels like not much has changed. Since I already knew Hyung Sik and received a lot of help [from him] while working, so I enjoyed filming. He is a very dependable and very sensible actor, so I had a lot of fun throughout the shoot, and it felt the same [as always]."

Doctor Slump will premiere on January 27. The K-drama will be available to stream on Netflix.
