tvN is on a promotional spree for Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramoon, and the broadcasting platform unveiled fresh stills featuring Shin Sae Kyeong, playing the role of Tan Ya.
The upcoming tvN weekend drama, Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramoon delves into the mythical land of Arth, where the fate of its inhabitants is shaped by the wielder of the sword.
The drama tells the story of the intertwined destinies of Ta Gon (Jang Dong Gun), Eun Seom (Lee Joon Gi), Tan Ya (Shin Se Kyung), and Tae Al Ha (Kim Ok Bin).
In Season 1 of Arthdal Chronicles, actors Song Joong Ki and Kim Ji Won played the male and female protagonists Eun Seom and Tan Ya, respectively. In Season 2, actors Lee Joon Gi and Shin Sae Kyeong replace them.
Shin Sae Kyeong, who takes on the role of High Priestess Tan Ya, the religious leader of Arthdal, in Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramoon, expressed her feelings about the role, saying, "The diverse desires and psychology of the characters were very appealing to me". The released photos show Shin Sae Kyeong immersed in her character Tan Ya, silent but strong, portraying a figure who is both compassionate to the people and invokes awe. Tan Ya is expected to be a respected and caring leader who garners admiration from the people.
Moreover, against the backdrop of a time jump of 8 years and an impending great war, High Priestess Tan Ya's significance and purpose draw attention. Shin Sae Kyeong mentioned, "Tan Ya knows exactly what she needs to do in an era of violence, and she shows her maturity. Through the painful times, she overcame as High Priestess, she has come to fully understand the source of her strength and how to nurture it". She also mentioned that the drama emphasizes helping, giving, and loving each other in an era dominated by bloodshed, and insists that slaughter and war be abandoned.
Shin Sae Kyeong expressed her deep affection for the work, saying, "As filming progressed, the thought that this story could be meaningful not only for the characters within the world of Arthdal but also for myself living in the modern world became stronger and more resolute".
