Song Kang Grapples with the Dilemma of Staying a Monster or a Human in "Sweet Home Season 2"

The teaser poster for Sweet Home Season 2, capturing Song Kang in a monster form, has been unveiled.

The Netflix series Sweet Home made history as the first Korean series to enter the Netflix US Top 10 list. It is also regarded as a global sensation. Season 2 expands into a world outside Green Home. Hyun Soo and the survivors of Green Home each fight their battles to survive in a new territory. 

In the new poster, Cha Hyun Soo (Song Kang) is shown having monster wings covered with sharp thorns. Against the backdrop of a crumbling stadium, the helicopter lights are directed at him and the soldiers aim to shoot. 

Cha Hyun Soo, who fought the monster inside of him, becoming the only hope for the residents of Green Home, ventures out into the world outside Green Home where monsters roam free. He is now caught up in a daunting dilemma: whether to stay a monster or a human.

Song Kang expressed, "I had a thirst for more emotional depth and dramatic elements. Returning to Sweet Home, I was able to quench that thirst by expressing emotions more dramatically, and I also had the opportunity to learn more about myself and grow further." He piqued curiosity about his portrayal of Hyun Soo and his agony over struggling with the desire to remain human or accept becoming a monster to protect people.

Director Lee Eung Bok said he focused on showcasing Hyun Soo's struggle to survive at the brink of despair while holding onto his humanity until the end. This season promises a depiction of a more mature Hyun Soo and highlights the sacrifices made by the character.

Sweet Home Season 2 will be released exclusively on Netflix on December 1.
