Kim Nam Hee's Life Isn't All Sunshine and Rainbows in "Bittersweet Hell"
The upcoming fantasy rom-com Heartbeat unveiled a new poster ahead of its release.
The newly-unveiled poster of the K-drama, featuring Ok Taec Yeon as Seon Woo Hyeol and Won Ji An as Joo In Hae, piques interest with its intriguing setting.
Set against a backdrop exuding an antique ambiance, the poster shows Woo Hyeol lying in a coffin dressed in a white suit holding a mirror in his left hand with an expression of astonishment on his face. He ventured into a deep slumber with a mirror, driven by the belief that vampires do not cast reflections. So, the moment his image will reflect in the mirror, he has succeeded in becoming a complete human.
But In Hae comes in the way of his plans and opens his coffin just before the last day of his sleep, spilling water on his efforts. Woo Hyeol has spent nearly a century confined in a coffin in his quest for humanity, and gazes into a mirror upon its opening, unable to conceal his astonishment at what he sees.
On the other hand, In Hae sits flustered upon discovering Woo Hyeol inside the coffin. Surrounding her are scattered keys, bells, books, and frames, heightening the anticipation for their remarkable first encounter.
The phrase on the poster reads, "I told you not to open it until I turned 100".
Heartbeat tells a delightful tale of a half-human, half-vampire Seon Woo Hyeol (Ok Taec Yeon), who narrowly missed the chance to become fully human on a day that comes once in a hundred years; and a woman named Joo In Hae (Won Ji An), who lacks compassion and empathy despite being a human. The two end up living together and embark on a journey to discover the true meaning of humanity and warmth.
The fantasy rom-com is directed by Lee Hyun Suk and Lee Min Soo. It also casts Yoon So Hee, Park Kang Hyun, Ham Tae In, and Go Gyu Pil, among others.
Heartbeat is set to premiere on June 26.
