According to Netflix, on June 18th, the casting for Squid Game Season 2 was announced in a surprise reveal at Netflix's global fan event Tudum, held on June 17th at 5:30 PM local time in São Paulo, Brazil.

In the unveiled video, in addition to the news of the return of the Season 1 star Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, Wi Ha Joon, Gong Yoo, Yim Si Wan, Kang Ha Neul, Park Sung Hoon, Yang Dong Geun appeared as new participants, thrilling viewers worldwide who have been eagerly awaiting Season 2.

Fans present at the live event, and numerous fans watching the Tudum through online streaming expressed their excitement with fervent cheers, showcasing their high expectations for Season 2. Director Hwang Dong Hyuk had previously announced the confirmation of Season 2 production, saying, 'We will meet again with even more new games and surprising stories,' capturing the attention of fans worldwide.

Lee Jung Jae, who won the Best Actor award at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards for his role in Season 1, will return as Seong Gi Hoon. Lee Byung Hun, who captivated audiences with his extraordinary performance as the Front Man in Season 1, and Wi Ha Joon, who portrayed Hwang Jun Ho, a character who entered the mysterious survival game to uncover his brother's secret, will also return for Season 2. Additionally, Gong Yoo, who tantalized participants with mysterious name tags in Season 1, teasing them with an enigmatic survival, will appear in Season 2, raising anticipation. The return of these characters from Season 1 to Season 2 will be highly anticipated to see what kind of performance they will deliver.

The lineup of new actors joining Season 2 has also been revealed for the first time. Yim Si Wan, who has showcased a spectrum of acting skills by traversing between good and evil in various works such as the Netflix movie 'Unlocked' and the drama 'Summer Strike,' and Kang Ha Neul, has gained much love from fans through the movie 'The Pirates 2: The Last Royal Treasure' and the drama 'When the Camellia Blooms,' has decided to join Season 2.

The casting of Park Sung Hoon, who perfectly portrayed a memorable character in the Netflix series 'The Glory,' and Yang Dong Geun, who demonstrated a unique presence in the Netflix movie 'Yaksha: Ruthless Operations' and the drama 'Cheer Up,' has also been confirmed, further heightening anticipation.
