The press preview of the movie "My Heart Puppy" (director Kim Joo Hwan/producer Yworks Entertainment, Don Quixote Entertainment) was held at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, on the afternoon of the 15th. Director Kim Joo Hwan and actors Yoo Yeon Seok and Cha Tae Hyun attended.

"My Heart Puppy" is a film about two brothers, Min Soo and Jin Guk, who begin a search to find the perfect pet-sitter for their beloved puppy 'Rooney.'

Yoo Yeon Seok took the role of 'Min Soo,' a man who is in danger of logging out early in his life.

Yoo Yeon Seok said,

"There have always been puppies at home since I was a child in elementary school. However, even though there were always pretty puppies around, there were moments when I had to let them go because the pace of life is different from ours, and it was incredibly difficult every time. So I think I've been avoiding them on purpose."

After he confessed, he could not get the words out properly.

Cha Tae Hyun said,

"When I first saw the script, there was a phrase in the end that says ' this film is dedicated to the puppy the director raised.' I haven't been a pet owner since I got married but I always had puppies before I marriage, so the phrase touched my heart deeply. The emotions will be different if pet owners watch this movie. I think that's why Yoo Yeon Seok felt like that too."

And then Yoo Yeon Seok mentioned,

"It's been a while since I debuted, but I'm embarrassed because it's the first time I've done something like this(crying) in front of reporters."

"Looking at the empty space without Rooney, I think of the puppies I lost in the past and become even more emotional. This movie conveys  the problems that may arise while raising an abandoned dog or a companion dog."

"While I was filming this movie and other series(Narco-Saints and Hospital Playlist Season 2), I didn't raise a dog because I knew the process of letting them go would be difficult. But, I was convinced while working on the film and filming the scenes with abandoned dogs. I learned a lot and found it hard to let them go, and if there's a puppy I can help with, I'll take it and treat it like family. Therefore I adopted Rita a year after filming this movie, and I think this project has had a big impact on my decision."

"My Heart Puppy," starring Cha Tae Hyun and Yoo Yeon Seok, is scheduled for release in theaters on March 1, 2023.
