I wanna pacify that heart that's sad about a supposed SE... I've read a lot of comments supposing this and that about what the end of KMLM will be like. Many of these comments are mere speculations based on truncated interpretations of the trailers. There're theses so incredible that you can create a new novel... Anticipating a supposed end is like being in the middle of a journey full of landscapes and missing part of them because we are staring at the horizon, worried about the end of a journey that is in the middle.
Look this:
1-The sequence of images in the trailers are not made in the order of events, you can see that many scenes are disconnected from the chronology. This is a misdirection technique!
2-No cinematographic production anticipates the ending in these trailers, it would be market suicide, half of the potential audience would give up on embarking on a leaky canoe.
3-There are apocryphal videos that circulate on social media and generate interpretive gossip that does not deserve to be taken seriously.
It's exhausting to suffer prematurely while watching a series that has given us beautiful moments, full of love, kisses, poetry, funny scenes.
My advice is: let's live the good moments of the plot, without this frantic search for the end, when we're still in the middle, without letting these speculations contaminate our hope and dreams for a satisfactory ending and the joy of being here discussing each episode that airs.

Right off the top the title remains me of Kdrama “KILL ME HEAL ME” modern kdrama and was very good and successful then. I have high hopes for this cdrama and the FL/ML.

Kill me, heal me (korean original) and Seven of me (chinese version) are about mental illness. Story is completely different from Kill me, love me. But yes, KMHM is drama about healing journey and it is very good drama. (I prefer chinese version, but that's just me).

I'll give my guess here. The female writer of the book (She wanted to write about a redeemable antihero). Someone who, in the last scene of the book, decides to marry only Mei Lin, doesn't want a concubine. A type of anti hero, who is able to enjoy the flowers with Mei Lin in this last scene.
In no way would the Chinese public accept (the anti-hero who in the first third of the book committed deplorable attitudes of the type that are in the book, unacceptable attitudes). And yet this hero has a happy ending.
(All of this that happened in the drama, the 4 screenwriters took the scenes from the book, but modified them to arrive at the end, the same ending as the book. Happy ending for our anti hero and for our killer with a merciful heart.
