So in this adaptation, they use a sports drink as a macguffin. Both Inuyashiki and Shishigami survive the ending. I'm inferring Shion and her grandmother are dead since they don't appear after the shootout (and Shishigami doesn't have a brief change of heart where he heals cancer patients).

I was surprised they were still alive at the end since the manga ended differently, I guess they didn't have enough screentime to show the final arc of them saving the earth from a meteor. But since Shishigami didn't even have a redemption arc there'd be no reason for him to help him anyways.
