If baijue sacrifices himself then how can it be a happy ending?

Can you tell me what happens at the end of the novel? What happens to Bai Jue or Qingmu? What about Tianqi? What about Shangu? Cause in the synopsis it says that she'll wait for him even if he disappears.

Bai Jue and Qing Mu becomes the same and Bai Jue remembers everything he did as Qing Mu, he then destructs his former body (that could only cultivate imortal power) and Shang Gu thinks he actually destructed Bo Xuan. Towards to the end TianQi discovers everything and wants to tell Shang Gu the truth but Bai Jue stops him and at this point nothing could save Bai Jue. When Shang Gu discovers is too late, Bai Jue already disappeared and she promises she will wait for him forever. Every true God when dies will reborn again a thousand years later, but they are not sure if Bai Jue will reborn because he sacrificed to the tribulation, but Shang Gu prays everyday and in the last chapter he reborns as Bai Jue and remembers her. But I dont want to see this kind of last minute happy ending I hope we have a real happy ending.

Thank you so much. This is the first time I've been so invested in a drama with this much angst. Usually I lose interest and come back when the final episodes are uploaded to check for what happened in the end. I want to stick this one out I really do.

Me too! I'm so invested that I read the whole novel in one and a half day lol the novel was really heartwrenching and the drama seems to follow with very few changes but the changes only makes it more emotional so far, I don't know what to expect!

Uggh. Heartwrenching you say? Oh my. I don't know why but as of late I've become addicted to Historical Chinese dramas but they almost always break my heart and end so sad. They're either really devastating or really cheesy and lighthearted. I'm gonna stick this one out regardless. I feel like I'm setting myself up for heart ache but I love the male leads and the story is really captivating so I'm  here for it until the end. Thanks again for sharing.

I wasn't going to read the novel until I finish the drama but at this point, I might as well go read the novel since I already spoil the story for myself by reading these spoilers.

I tried to restrain myself from reading spoilers. I really did! It's just too tempting that I failed HAHAHAHA!!!

Yes. I'm with you there. I am so over this family affair of foolishness. Yuemi, Hong ri. I'm like okay they are gonna make me lose it. And I feel you I torture myself too. I have a bad habit of skipping around dramas. I have watched the final episodes of completed dramas after watching the first three to decide if I want to live through the torture, drama and anger. Lol.
