When Polish children arrived from Siberia to the Japanese port in Tsuruga they were greeted by the locals with apples. A couple months ago, over 100 years after the event, high school students from Tsuruga came to Poland to plant (together with Polish kids) 100 apple trees near the National Stadium in Warsaw. The apple trees bloom in white and red, the colours of Polish and Japanese flags. More apple trees were planted in Tsuruga and Fukudenkai - the Tokyo orphanage were Polish kids spent half a year before going to Poland. Thank you, Japan from Poland!
