✿ So... what is Role Reversal? It's a term to describe dynamics where the traditional men and women's roles are reversed (usually in relationships). These can vary in what kind and to what degree. In such dynamics, women take on the (more) masculine and dominant role in the relationship while the men take on the (more) feminine and submissive role in the relationship. ✿ Is Role Reversal the same as 4i/Fourth Love/GB (Girl x Boy)? Yes, pretty much! "GB", "4i", or "Fourth Love"《四爱》is a Chinese term used to describe heterosexual relationships where the woman leads and the man follows. 

✿ What about HetGNC (Heterosexual Gender-Nonconforming)? Both have a lot of overlap but are ultimately different. HetGNC focuses more on non-conforming gender expression while role reversal is more focused on the romantic roles. (More information can be found in the HetGNC Blog!)

✿ And Femdom? Mostly, yes, but there's also more to it. Usually female-gaze femdom is more RR than male-gaze femdom.

✿ Is Noona romance considered Role Reversal? Depends on the individual case. Despite the woman being older which is RR, a lot of noona romance still has very traditional gender roles so how thorough the RR is outside of that initial dynamic switch depends on the title. 

✿ What about Egalitarian dynamics or power couples? RR refers specifically to dynamic where the roles are reversed, egalitarian dynamics are centered on equality, so though it may have some role reversed elements, it isn't role reversal by default and depends on the individual case if it's RR-leaning or not.
