c-drama with 5 ⭐ production value

c-dramas often shoot itself in the leg with the number of episodes it has to reach to tell the story. I've been watching c-drama since 2024, and as a person who works in the creative industry and a cinema enthusiast, i get so mindblown when a drama with almost 40 episodes could maintain its cinematic quality to the end—from the actors as the frontliners, the cinematography and camera works, to the post-production works in the color, effect, and music.

here's my personal favorites. from the highly acclaimed Flourished Peony in the historical genre, to Go Ahead in the modern genre. these are my 5 ⭐ shows across all storytelling department: writing, cast, directing, cinematography, music, world building. and ultimately, my overall enjoyment while following the shows. (i especially love strategically placed slow motion! these c-dramas in my list got them right)
