shows i've watched in 2023

if wjk wasnt in it, i honestly wouldnt even have watched it.

plot of movie was relatively boring, girl goes on a journey to find the truth behind her dad's murder. FL was absolutely useless throughout the entire movie, from gathering evidence to staying out of trouble. she'd honestly have gotten no truth and died if ML wasn't there carrying the entire story. 

the kiss scene that came out of nowhere and added no points to the movie was honestly very unnecessary. not a big fan of some of the camera works for certain shots too (fish eye shots, super dark til you cant see anything). maybe im dumb but i dont see why they made the villain be the only one who isnt speaking in dialect, or why they couldnt have just done the movie in mandarin. 

loved the original american version, this is just straight up terrible.
so bad i can't find words to describe. just stick to the original.

never thought the 4 of them would be such a fun bunch together, proper fun show

love the interactions between the families, but my favourite has to be silence wang and azora chin. simply lovely to watch!! the couple was also super sweet, yuan hong literally raising the bar for all males D: 

first half of the season was boring compared to the latter half
as usual, i enjoyed the roommates duo most!!
i thought the couple from last season was already super sweet, but the couple from the second half of this season was even sweeter!!!!! my standards for men has unfortunately risen up another level (":

when i first found out this show was adapted from the same webtoon as gaus electronics, i was super hesitant to try it since i dropped gaus electronics.
nonetheless, it was definitely better than gaus electronics since i actually finished this one.

i would've liked to see more of the rich kid tbh, but i guess he's more of a support character
i don't think that the addition of romance between the two leads were necessary and honestly, felt like the entire story of the show kinda dropped after they became a couple. 

it started out so so so interesting (ep 1 and 2)
but it went downhill so quickly once the bad guy entered... 

it was repetitive how the bad guy tried to control everyone by using the hate within them, at least the "controlling" of FL didn't work in the way i thought it'd be so that's a plus point. 

i wish there had been more idol stuff as it didnt feel like the show really focus on that :L aferall, it was kinda the whole premise... it felt more like a guy living day to day without the idol life

the deity arc was kinda mid as well.. i guess it was thrown in so FL could save ML and shit

i was sceptical about the joining of baoshi and fan zhi yi as i've not watched anything with them in it, but the proved to be a fun addition.

some episodes were fun to watch while some were just straight up boring.
though they brought back some of season 1's guests, this season is still pretty mid compared to season 1. honestly i'm not sure if anything can top season 1 at this point (": 

an unexpected enjoyment. 

the first few episode were kinda tough to bear through but i swear it gets better.
seeing them struggle in the beginning to getting the hang of farming (cough cough 4000 pots of roses)

hopefully there'll be a second season with the same vibes

i spent 2 hours watching this and came out with only question marks.
who tf sent ML and FL into the loop in the first place??

aside from that, ML and FL were very very sweet (minus the 10 year age gap)

yook sung jae finally had a new show out that seems interesting!! 

i made it into episode 4 before i lost interest, but hey, i did manage to read episodes' recaps.
from that, i can conclude this entire show with one word, drama. too much drama for my liking

watched it purely for chen li nong, and even so, it still took me about half a year to finish watching this lmao

pretty mid show, definitely have watched better chill cooking variety shows.

its an alright variety, the more chill type i suppose
nothing worth re-watching in my opinion but its good for when youve got nothing to watch

i think wang he di's family turned out to be the most close-knit among all three families, was a joy watching them.
650 gang basically carried the show with all the well thought out activities
kinda crap that they had to leave the mountain location just because the two old folks cant handle it lol, wasnt it already agreed in their contract where the filming location would be???

not sure why, but this movie just ticks all of my checkboxes
really enjoyed it, but i guess it couldve been even better if they had kept some of the deleted scenes in... 

interactions between the main leads are super sweet, really really enjoyed their high school days. the story kinda dropped off after graduation of high school, unnecessary side characters trying to ruin their relationship in uni, some work place issues as well. 

wish they addressed more of ML's family though, seems like the family simply existed because it was need for ML's  storyline. it was kinda left hanging with no resolution. 

lowkey 2ML and 2FL carried the latter half of the show

a very slow paced drama
but that's also precisely the reason why the characters have time for development (even a few of the main side characters) 

it's definitely a slow burner, so the 2 playback speed can be your best buddy at times.
can't say im entirely happy with its ending.. but pretty alright in general

don't think i'll be rewatching it though 

someone reviewed this as road to patriotic boredom and honestly that describes the entire show pretty well. 

the pace is so unnecessarily slow, character development feels non-existent, side characters exist just to exist.
the beginning of the show was at least bearable, but it honestly got terrible to watch from the middle to the end. 

not sure why people said the mains had incredible chemistry cause i honestly felt none of it. 

wooo haven't enjoyed a drama in a good while til this came along!!

sweetness alllll over, some plot holes/un-explained items but overall its still ties up if you don't think about it.
a good watch. 

the romance and the farm were honestly nothing more than just words they stuck onto the title.
farming was only done in the beginning, romance was placed on the back burner for the familial drama that happened throughout the entire show. 

this is honestly one show that just frustrates me the more as i watch on. the amount of patriarchal themes is absurd. the way FL was meant to just agree with everything elders say/ask for is also ridiculous. lets not forget how one of the side characters repeatedly try and kill his family members were brushed off with unapologetic apologies. 

on top of all the familial drama, they had to add in more drama regarding ML's work/life?? 

ah yeah, we cant possibly forget about the 2ml that was dropped into the show just for funsies!! he added absolutely nothing to the whole story!!!

and and and the whole supposed game aspect of this, IT WAS ONLY BRIEFLY MENTIONED IN THE FIRST AND LAST EPISODE???

as the comments said, it honestly just all went downhill past high school.
also side note, when FL's phone got confiscated in the final year of high school, why didnt she just write a letter to ML?????? like you'd really just have absolutely no contact with him???

the mum of FL was super annoying, the whole pressure on ML to continue shooting/silver jewellery felt unnecessary as well. 

with all being said, i loved ML. perhaps the only saving grace in this shitshow

i think the original Mr. Housework was a better concept, i still only enjoy watching the roommates combo as its simply much more fun. 

im not enjoying the addition of the psychologist(?) which added nothing in my opinion to the enjoyment of the show.

couldnt stand FL's acting, it felt really really bad, had to fast forward her scenes at time due to how cringe it was. im still not the biggest fan of tan jian ci being the ML, his voice just truly doesnt have anything that would make me feel the way i did for qiang qing ci in the book.

quite a lot was changed from the original book, but i guess that was to be expected.

a lot of major online events were changed to offline events which in my opinion, reduced how grand things were since the show didn't really encapsulate how big of a deal these bunch of people were in their circle. 

i really dislike how they changed jue mei sha yi's character to be so rizz-less, in the book he managed to get with geng xiao xin so much quicker and more confidently. this change in the character ruined this couple for me.

i also wished they spent more time exploring the relationship between doudoudoubing and feng ya song. probably the best couple in this drama.
