shows i've watched in 2024

the parts where they stay at each other's houses was the best!!! 

the rest of the show was just mid.

finally got around to watching it after waiting for it to be released for months!! 

not the sweetest or the best youth rom, but i'll take it

by a stroke of luck, i have stumbled upon another work of bai jing ting.
i'm not saying all of his works are great, but i haven't watched a bad show of his thus far... 

this show has an interesting premise, aright plot development.
wish it was 40 episodes long so the last 2 episodes didn't feel so rushed :l

a lot of comments mentioned that the last 7 or so episodes wasn't fun to watch and i agree.
it felt way too different compared to the rest of the show's lightheartedness.

too much happened too fast

the boys really made it big now, with more land to plant, and even a whole greenhouse to take care of. really really proud of them.
memorable moments include xiaotong needing to plant finish everything before things wilt, and luzhuos roses almost not making it. wished the editors couldve added more footage of how they overcame it. 

but alas, everything ended on such a sour note given what has happened between the producers and the boys/fans. can't believe the producers treated them so badly.
i genuinely hope some other channel/producers can give the boys a chance so we can get the same vibes with a better producer group (":

feels more like a giant advert than a reality tv show tbh... 

activities in the show felt awkward, the 4 hosts feel like they haven't opened up with one another/the camera either.
which is weird as i have seen three out of four of them on another show and they were far from this awkward!!

concept was pretty interesting and fun to watch.

some stories were more interesting than the others, but it is what it is.
though i don't understand whats the point of adding a horror element to each of the episodes lol, seems unnecessary in some of the storylines

first 3 episodes were good!!
the boys built their own place of rest, scavenged for food, made their own fire. 

then it went in the direction of every other variety show.. more games, living conditions were more comfortable (they got tents!!), food were provided

WHERE DID THE WILDERNESS SURVIVAL PORTION OF THE SHOW GO TO????

ah, a new parallel universe story that's unrelated to the previous parallel universe. 

i'm not sure if i enjoyed this parallel universe setting as much as the drama, perhaps because there's less time to set up the story and their undying love for one another.
the jumping of universes by ML here is also a bit messy at times.. 

didn't enjoy the plot hole where FL suddenly didn't go back to her original world after hearing ML's name at the end >:(

i do like the end quote of "for every unrequited love, there's a happy ending in another universe" though!! warms up my hopeless romantic heart

simply not as fun as season 1 

didn't enjoy it as much either, maybe it was the half-new cast. or maybe it was the new format of less npc/organic searching. this season feels more like "im giving you a deck of information, work it out" compared to the previous "search for clues to figure it out" which was more fun and exciting. 

this season's scare factor seems to have went up as well, did not enjoy it in the least.

to be honest, i stopped after dylan wang left lol 

the show is just boring once he left.
this season's guests were pretty boring too, but maybe that's the gist of this show.

finally got done watching it, this was one tiring show to watch.

all of the frustrations on how certain participants acted, how daft some can be...
all in all, i'm glad i saw it to the end. 

at a point, what was going on in "revival island" was more fun to watch than "main island"
happy that people i rooted for won, although it sucks that towards the end it was all group games. 

i dont quite understand the "motivation" that pushed them through to keep winning since the winners didn't end up with any gifts/prizes aside from the "gold beans" that they were awarded with..it doesn't seem like real gold either so...

a big big big revamp to the show compared to the previous two seasons

i enjoyed the whole "throw them into a forest with close to nothing and watch" but didn't enjoy when they started adding guests. the guests added absolutely no watch value and caused the main cast to host them. 

its also to note that its such a vastly different concept to the previous two seasons that it can honestly be a new show by itself.
they claim the random DIY's that the main cast do as experiments, but honestly that can only be said when they were trying to make a fire (which btw stopped happening halfway into the season). 

the show has completely lost the fun-sciencey-experimenty aspect of the show and i'm not sure if its a good way forward.

the hide and seek part was still fun to watch in the beginning, but after while, its so tiring to see the stronger faction win all the time. 

the show gave too many power-ups which, in my opinion, ruined the balance of the show.

watched it for my 3 boys from r1se, still missing them everyday. 

the portion with r1se were fun and entertaining, but thats about it.
there wasn't much to the show, its just a group of people traveling.

after 4 years, i've finally watched this highly raved drama.
and not gonna lie, i can see why its so well liked! 

story was captivating, even when the story wasn't focusing on the main characters.
there was finally some form of story development for the side characters (something i have not seen in a good long while!!!) instead of just a one-liner of "they're good". 

didn't fully enjoy the quick pacing of story of the "childhood" portion, it felt a little bit too rushed, but i understand it was supposed to be "just there" for background sake.
also didn't enjoy the way the show tried to make everyone a "good person" at the end of it all (cough all the mums cough)

all in all, i truly enjoyed it, might re-watch it some day too :)
