BLs that are 110% worth watching
The BLs that are interesting all the way through with no disappointing endings, good characters and chemistry.
the list is made from my own opinion and not from everyone elses likes because some series/movies i've watched are overated sooooo i made my own list :D
i really like lists with reviews so i kinda wanted my own little review list ***

1. Life: Love on the Line
Japanese Drama - 2020, 4 episodes
LOVE
the emotions felt while watching this are just too much. Do i think it's an original story? no, i don't, but the potrayal off it and the mad chemistry between the leads are just captivating.
the pacing is so nice and it doesn't even feel rushed even though u go through over 20 years in 4 episodes.
only thing is that i got mad at Akira because i thought he became straight up stupid all of a sudden in ep3 but he had a valid reasoning, so he's forgiven.
could i go with a different plot tho, yes yes but i have no problem with this one, it would just be nice to have a bl that's wholesome the whole way through, without any doubt or trying to be ''normal'' bs.
I love the support from both the families and i even felt for Akiras sister and Hassan. Even though she didn't have a lot of screentime the time she got was used right and made u feel for her too.
OH- I LOVE the Xi Gu and Hao Ting cameo, it was a pleasent surprise.
DEFINIETLY worth a watch, it's in my opinion no way overated and deserves all the love -
2. Life: Love on the Line (Director's Cut)
Japanese Movie - 2020
So, this is technically just the full story but with an added scene at 1,02.06 and an added 8 minutes of story at the end but lord were they needed.
the added scene helps explain further the influence Akira got which led to his stupidity or what i should call it in ep3. (its not all stupidity but idk what word to use instead)
SPOILER!! the new open-end ending i felt were really needed for a lot of watchers. U can now decide yourself what happened through the remainder of their life since u know that they stayed together all the way to the end. i found the ending heartbreaking in a way but i am personally scared of getting old so thats why.
BUT regardless of my reaction to the ending it was an all-in-all ''happy'' (happy?) one, or satisfacting (ig suits more) one. -
3. My Beautiful Man
Japanese Drama - 2021, 6 episodes
i didn't think i was going to end up liking it when 2 episodes in but i LOVE IT. before i started watching it i thought it would be good because of all the positive reviws i've seen about it, but a couple episodes in made me doubt it. i thought it was going to just turn into a typical ''the-unpopular-guy-falls-in-love-with-the-douchebag'' type of BL & even though that was kind of what happened, it's something about this one.
the acting was GREAT, the chemistry was there and with the amazing ass OST & score this one just became a new favorite of mine. The story is nothing special or original but it's easy to follow and it's a very ''cozy'' watch. the scenery at times is very pretty as well.
i adore how they made the outros because the edit paired with the incredible outro song (''follow'' by Roce) just made me PUMPED to watch the next episode. I EVEN ENJOYED THE INTRO
So idk what they did that made me fall so in love with this piece but it's something that's worth watching/rewatching <3 -
4. Night Flight
Korean Movie - 2014
i was so close to dropping this one about 48 minutes into it but i'm happy i didn't. the beginning was hard for me to understand, like who all the characters were, everyone's relationship to eachother etc. (i still am not sure who was who and whatnot). but the second half is what really get's to you, like GEEZ that made me feel ALL types of emotions.
anyways, even if i didn't get who was friends with who it ended up being a very heavy and emotional story. I really don't think this is something for everyone--because of the realness it had over it (& especially if u don't like blood), like the rape, all the assaults and the bullying for example wasn't light. And the overall feel of realism it had over it is what really made it feel even more heavy. it's painful.
If you're looking for a fluffy, cutesy BL this is DEFINIETLY not it. But if you're intrested in seeing the more real, more ugly side of being someone who's not accepted by everyone, this is something to watch. They've stripped away all off the ''fanservice'', trendy, cutesy same-sex realitonship bs and are just showing the raw reality.
that aside, the acting was AWESOME, i even thought the fight scenes were amazingly executed and directed (i usually find the fight scenes in most BLs lame and not done well). everyone played their character so well--they all felt so real. i also think if u make a movie like this one the acting must be good or the whole thing won't have the emotional effect that this one did.
all-in-all it's worth a watch, just maybe not for the most faint of heart. -
5. Semantic Error
Korean Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
A MUST WATCH!!
THE CHEMISTRY IS JUST AAHHH
