  • If Cats Disappeared From the World

    1. If Cats Disappeared From the World

    Japanese Movie - 2016

    10

It was my second japanese movie and I'll never forget how much of a mess I was the night I watched this.

It made me become a whole as* river from the second half till the end. I spent like 2 months not wanting to watch anything more just because of the impact it left in me. I couldn't even listen to this movie's bgm again, which is something I usually do after finishing a movie.  And no, I'm not even talking about this in a bad way, at all. It was one of the most beautiful experiences I've had the luck to live. I even bought the book that this movie was based on. It was simply one of the best watch I've ever had.

Also, this was my first meeting with Sato Takeru. I can't describe how many emotions I felt because of his acting here. I was truly impressed by it and I remember how quickly I started looking up some more of his works. He really left a mark on me with this movie, and that's why I also had to wait some time to start seeing him in a different one. He's still one of my favourite actors.

To sum this up, it was a sad yet a comforting experience for me. The actors did a really good job portraying their characters' feelings in every scene. I still can't move on from what it made me feel since the beginning till the end. As someone as sensitive as me I thought I wouldn't stop crying till the next day of watching this. I wasn't that wrong as for the next few weeks everytime I remember it I almost started tearing up.

    What an awesome experience.

I was having a really hard time when I discovered this movie. It even took me some more days to convince myself that this could be a good movie, how could I even thought this was gonna be boring? What was even passing through my mind.

This movie was such a beautiful surprise. I'll never be thankful enough because it really took me to another world for two hours. At the end, I couldn't stop crying, not only because of the story, but the fact that such a great two hours journey had ended hit me so hard. I didn't want to experiment the chaotic thoughts I was having in my head another time.

Fukushi Sota and Kudo Asuka truly seemed to understand each one of their characters' feeling perfectly and it was well-shown in every scene they were in. I couldn't stop thinking about them for weeks.

Finally, I'll love to say that I'd recommend this to anyone. It's truly a hidden gem I would love anyone to experience and figure by themselves.

  • Let's Go, JETS! From Small Town Girls to U.S. Champions?!

Oh my god. As soon as I watched the first minutes of this movie I was sure I would love it a lot.

Such a beautiful an inspiring movie. I loved how well-developed the story was and how anything felt rushed. I found myself enjoying every minute of it, while noticing how my happiness level only could go up.

Each one of the characters and the way they grew as the movie's story was being shown made me feel so attached to them that I remember how emotional I felt by the end of it. I cried of happiness, the fact that they got their deserved ending after all their hard work made me feel as if I had also reached such a dream. As someone who didn't have one (and I'm still not sure if I do now) really fulled my body with optimism and motivation.

The message they wanted to send in this movie was clear and motivating. It's not an dramatic movie, a perfect one to see one or more timeswhen you're in the mood. It won't loose its powerfulness even if you rewatch it.

I will forever remember how this introduced me to Greeeen. I wasn't so interested in Jpop back then. However, my only thought after listening to Ai Uta was '' What a beautiful song,  my god''. Or maybe that was what I thought after stopping crying everytime I tried to listen to it. That song became one of my all-time  favourites, and I'll never get tired of it.

Some people might think this story is simple and predictable. While I kinda agree, I also felt this offered me lots of new emotions as the scenes went on. It was a tragic journey, but the way the characters were explained and developed left a great impact on me. You could say, as most of terminal illness' movies, that they found the happiness they were searching for in the little time they had.

I loved the main cast so much that I broke down in the end. The acting overall was good. Looking back, I had some small problems with Ryusei's acting, but it still didn't affect that much my watching experience. This was my first (and last time until 2021) that I met Iijima Hiroki. The final scenes, god. At that moment it was like all my world had been restored, I loved his character a lot. Man, I feel like crying again...

Finally, the aesthetics were beautiful and made the movie much more unforgettable as I coudln't help but taking screenshots lots of times. Such a wholesome movie I would not hesitate to rewatch, something in it was really unique.
