Japan BL Recommendations

Japan is the originator and a long reigning king of BL. Their familiarity with the genre is unprecedented, whether it's manga, anime or live action BL. The treatment of LGBTQ+ subject matter in Japan is never consistent. They’ll put out a depressing storyline one day and a bubblegum light storyline the next. The variety of stories, the often problematic nature of it, the various degrees and angles from which they approach a story and the fact that each show is unique is what makes Japan still reigning supreme.
