Top 20 Japanese Movies

A fiercely funny, clever, and altogether stylish satire on the ruthlessness of Japan's top tier prep schools, and how their graduates go on to become Japan's equally ruthless politicians.   It doesn't take itself seriously, but ends up doing a better job than the average self-serious film shooting for the same themes.

And then, of course, it stars the uber-talented, adorable,  Suda Masaki, which makes it's worth watching right there.    

Has the coolest soundtrack of any Japanese movie ever made, which features multiple songs by what also happens to be the coolest punk band to ever come out of Japan:   Thee Michelle Gun Elephant.

By the same director as "Blue Spring" and "9 Souls" and, as such, also features an awesome J-Punk soundtrack.
