I Fell for the OSTs
Dramas or Movies whose OSTs I absolutely LOVE. Regardless of if I liked the actual stories at all. In fact, I might have only continued watching some of these dramas/movies SOLELY because I loved the OSTs.... Some were because the songs were just super catchy. But SOME were because the songs were just so musically beautiful. Like, as a musician, I was crying tears of joy. The heavens opened and God gave me a kiss on the forehead. That kind of level.

1. Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo
Korean Drama - 2016, 20 episodes
Any comment I write here would just not do the OST justice. If you've never heard it before, what are you even doing with your life? Listen to it. Thank me later.

2. Descendants of the Sun
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
As one of the first KDramas I ever watched, this drama holds a special place in my heart. But also, even if it didn't, I would have to put this OST on at LEAST my top 5 picks for best OSTs. Ugh, I love this drama so much!

3. You Are the Apple of My Eye
Taiwanese Movie - 2011
I honestly watched this movie because I heard the main theme song on youtube and ended up singing it at random times during the day. The movie ended up being one of my favorites, but honestly? I probably would not have watched it even based off the amazing reviews if it weren't for the AMAZING main theme song. Seriously.

4. Arsenal Military Academy
Chinese Drama - 2019, 48 episodes
This drama was super popular, but honestly the OST was so underrated for a while. Midnight Tango is so beautiful that I honestly spent the time to figure out how to play it on my cello.

5. To. Jenny
Korean Special - 2018, 2 episodes
This little drama is SO underrated. I don't know if you could call them OST songs, but this drama made me listen to the songs for WEEKS afterwards. I could not get enough of them.

6. Love in the Moonlight
Korean Drama - 2016, 18 episodes

7. Who Are You: School 2015
Korean Drama - 2015, 16 episodes
Dude, I cannot hear the word "reset" without bursting into song anymore. I swear. It has really affected my life as I work with technology and have to reset a LOT of things.

8. One Spring Night
Korean Drama - 2019, 32 episodes
They're all in English, which means I can play them when friends are over (and not get wholly judged, which is a plus), but even if they weren't they are just such good mellow pop songs. And Rachael Yamagata's voice is so soothing. I became a fan.

9. Our Times
Taiwanese Movie - 2015
I honestly watched this movie because I heard the main theme song on youtube and fell in love...
-
10. Strong Woman Do Bong Soon
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
So catchy! So upbeat! So fitting for this drama! Quirky just like the storyline's protagonists and I love it because of that!
-
11. Crash Landing on You
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
Everything about this drama was groundbreaking. The story line was beautiful and the OST was just the PERFECT icing on the cake.

12. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes

13. A Love So Beautiful
Chinese Drama - 2017, 23 episodes
No joke, I learned how to play the main theme song on guitar and sing it. In Chinese. I loved it that much.
-
14. 5-ji Kara 9-ji Made
Japanese Drama - 2015, 10 episodes
Back Number is a whole bop. Nothing groundbreaking musically, but it's just so catchy and I loved it. Honestly, it was the only reason I could get past some of those super cringey scenes!

15. The Big Boss
Chinese Drama - 2017, 18 episodes
This was another one that I honestly don't know what it was that made me love the OST so much. Maybe it's because I thought the story line was so adorkable? It just fit the story so well. It's such an odd show, but holds SUCH a special place in my heart tbh.

16. Good Bye, My Princess
Chinese Drama - 2019, 52 episodes
ok. i know some people dislike the ending of this drama. I actually did not finish this drama, so I can't even offer any spoilers... BUT the OST is still a bop, so it makes the list.
