idols who have acting potential — male edition (^—^)

You know it’s interesting because whenever I go on drama feeds, people get really disappointed when idols are cast in dramas, because of course, there are other actors who have tried to work their way up in the industry and sometimes idols are chosen over actual actors and actresses mainly because of their fandom star power or their “faces” and no one can tell me otherwise ... even I have noticed this pattern in kdramas within the past couple years: I’ve been a kdrama fan for 3 years and a kpop fan for two years, it’s hard not to notice it sometimes, BUT, here’s where I’m at:

I actually have this theory where if you’ve seen one of your fav idols in mv’s and of that mv tells a story, where they literally have to ”act“ out a situation, and they convince you well enough where you think that mv should’ve been a film instead: they have acting talent, or they have acting potential, no joke, some of the characters I’ve come up with, which I have storyboards for on my Pinterest page (link in profile), some I imagine to play the characters I’ve created, because I firmly believe they have a secret acting talent. 

All the people you see on this list, I kid you not, within the next ten years I could see them in acting roles, and could have serious potential for an acting careerm when they retire as idols (because as sad as it is, the day will come ... :’((((( which nobody wants but, it’ll happen). I’m really interested to see what people on this platform think of these choices, because I’m gonna be specific lol, but please comment below if you agree with any of these :’) or shoot me a DM!!!

    you better believe there’s a reason why he’s #1, and guess what: it’s not because I’m an ARMY ...

    I firmly believe V is a big part of my theory where idols can act under proper acting lessons and guidance, as a matter of fact I believe he crushes the opinions “idols can’t act“ at all, which I say: check again lmao, his only acting role to date is Suk Han Sung in Hwarang, he impressed everybody and there’s something I need to commend: his natural acting, boi he’s got it ... 

    examples he can play multiple roles:

      • even though it’s just a reality show, he shows he can portray a serious character, with his eye contact alone, and be intimidating.

      • this is a clip from a chicken ad lmao, but in less than 10 seconds he made me care about him, and I could genuinely feel he was running away from something, wtf ...

      • can portray a character suffering mentally and physically

  • Jang Mun Ik

    if you haven‘t seen the third ep. of ”Youtuber Class” take the time to do so, just one web-drama ep. and boy does he have acting potentiallll, first role of his acting career, and he convinced me he could play an innocent make-up artist, what a guy, look forward to seeing him in more projects!

  • Byun Baek Hyun

    he hasn’t done much acting since Scarlet Heart: Ryeo, which a lot of people gave him sh— for his acting (not me ...) I think he has a lot of potential in the future to be a ML in drama, I do feel there’s some emotional depth we haven’t seen yet, but I believe he has talent, check out below to find out why >:P

      • I could see him playing a sensitive or sweet ML in a kdrama, just give him a proper script, producer, and director and you’ve got all you need!

      • man I got so much inspo from this one teaser, it’s insane, kind of like Tae’s weird chi ken commercial lol, this one video made me care about him, like what’s he running from? Who’s chasing him you know? He could definitely pull off being a character working at a tattoo parlor or something or being that punk metal guy 

    these are just two roles I see him  playing, there’s many more! I look forward this future acting career if he chooses it!

    he’s not on this list because I’m an EXO-L either hehehe

    I’m curious on who’s seen his works so far? this guy is going somewhere in ten years with an acting career, I find he can portray emotions incredibly well and like Tae, he has a natural acting ability, something you don’t see everyday, with more practice he could make a career when he retires from EXO :’)

    he hasn’t starred in any major acting roles, but he had a cameo role in “Big Issue,” and that one role proved he might have some natural acting talent! :)

    • kdrama ML’s friend or the ML: I could see it happening, maybe with some more acting lessons, if any company thought he needed it, could happen!

    he’s already in the acting business but I don’t think people take him seriously enough as an actor, probably because he’s taking on the roles of high school students lol, which I hope he breaks out of, I really want to see him in more mature roles, instead roles in rom-coms, like some thrillers or mystery series! >:)
