The Lost Tomb/Time Riders Universe: Chronological Order
This is a personal interpretation of the chronological order of all productions in the Daomu Biji (The Lost Tomb) universe. Many of these series are adapted from overlapping parts of the original novel, often retelling the same events with variations. As a result, the timeline can be inconsistent, with multiple interpretations existing depending on adaptation and perspective.
In this list, The Lost Tomb is used as the starting point because it is the main series and most familiar entry for viewers. From there, the remaining productions are arranged according to my understanding of when their events take place within the broader universe chronology, including prequels, sequels, and side stories.

32. Legend of Zang Hai
Chinese Drama - 2025, 40 episodes
Legend of Zang Hai, formerly known as Tibetan Sea Opera, is a television series that was originally developed as a story about Wang Zanghai's life. After the project was acquired by Zheng Xiaolong, the script was revised and became an independent story separate from Daomu Biji and the character Wang Zanghai.
Therefore, it is not part of the Daomu Biji universe and is not directly connected to the other productions in this timeline.
Connections to the Daomu Biji Novels
Although the series was changed into an independent work, it still contains several similarities and references to concepts associated with the original Wang Zanghai-based script:
Zang Hai's Knowledge of Feng Shui and Traps – Similar to Wang Zanghai, Zang Hai possesses extensive knowledge of feng shui, mechanisms, and ancient traps.
Lighting the Lantern – Similar to the famous "lighting the lantern" tradition at Xin Yue Restaurant in Daomu Biji, the Zhen Tower contains a seat known as the Vermillion Bird Head. Whoever sits there and lights the lantern claims Moonview Hall for the night and is responsible for covering the expenses of the guests. This closely resembles the lantern-lighting tradition in Daomu Biji, where lighting the lantern at an auction in Xin Yue Restaurant effectively reserved the item regardless of competing bids.
As it is not part of the official Daomu Biji continuity, it can be viewed separately from the main timeline.
