Honestly, this BL deserved SO much more promotion and recognition because what a lovely little story this was...

There were so many twists, turns, drama, plot twists, romance in the middle of the forest… it really had me invested. The story kept throwing things at them and I was just sitting there like CAN THESE MEN PLEASE HAVE ONE DAY OF PEACE???? TT

Of course, it’s not perfect. The development could’ve been stronger in some parts, and I wouldn’t say the acting was the best I’ve ever seen either, but honestly? The vibe carried this show so hard. There’s something about the atmosphere, the story and the relationship between them that just worked for me.

And that ending??? Seeing them grow old and get married after everything they went through absolutely destroyed me. After all the pain, uncertainty and everything standing between them, getting to see them finally have a life together was honestly the perfect way to end their story.

This was a such beautiful and emotional little surprise, and deserved waaaaay much more attention. Okay, it's not perfect, but the story, the atmosphere and that ending completely won me over.

WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT PLOT TWIST????? (In a good way tho)

I went into this one knowing literally NOTHING. I didn’t even read the synopsis. I only saw Gun Na Ranong in the cast and was like “sure, why not?” Especially since it’s only 6 episodes, I thought I’d just watch it casually and move on.

AND THEN THE PLOT TWIST HAPPENED!!!! I was sitting there like EXCUSE ME????? I honestly did NOT see that coming. Not in a million years. And because I went in completely blind, the reveal hit SO much harder lol.

The concept was actually brilliant. I just wish they had developed it better because there was so much potential here. With a little more time and better development, this could’ve been SO much more impactful.

But even with its flaws, I really enjoyed it. It was short, unexpected, and managed to surprise me when I absolutely wasn’t expecting it.

I really wanted to love this one, but unfortunately… I DROPPED IT. TT

Honestly, my biggest problem is that it feels like they invested SO much into the costumes, sets, cinematography and promotion that they forgot one tiny little detail: THE STORY.

Because visually? Gorgeous. Absolutely STUNNING. The production is clearly one of the biggest strengths of this series, and you can tell they put a LOT of money and effort into making everything look grand and luxurious. But unfortunately, a pretty set can only carry a story so far.

The plot had SO much potential — royalty, political intrigue, forbidden romance, power struggles, assassinations, family drama… like the ingredients for an incredible drama were RIGHT THERE. But the writing just never managed to make everything as compelling as the production made it look. A lot of things felt underdeveloped, and eventually I just stopped caring enough to keep going.

It’s not necessarily a bad series, and I can absolutely see why people love it. Zee and NuNew have their moments, their chemistry is INSANE, the production is beautiful, and there are definitely some good scenes in there. But for me, the hype was mostly visual. They made the series look like a 10/10 and then forgot that the story also had to work as a 10/10.

I really wish they had put as much effort into the writing and development as they did into making everything look pretty, because the potential was HUGE.

The plot is basic, but it kept me interested, the characters were cute, and the whole thing had such a cozy vibe that I ended up enjoying it a lot.

My only complaint — and this is becoming a PERSONAL ATTACK from Korea at me at this point — is the runtime. I mean 10–15 minutes per episode????? BITCH you better be joking!!!!

Seriously, give these dramas some actual screen time!!!!!!

FINALLY I FINISHED THIS THING!!!! (in a good way tho)

I’ve been trying to watch Why R U? since it came out, but I could NEVER get past episode 2 because the beginning was just… so boring. I kept saying “I’ll watch it later” until I basically gave up. Then an edit of Zee and Saint randomly appeared on my timeline and I decided I was going to finish this series even if I had to do it through sheer hatred lol.

And honestly? I’m glad I did. But I've tbh It really only starts getting good around episodes 6/7, but once it finally picks up, I actually had a lot of fun watching it.

I also have to say that Zee and Saint’s acting style is pretty basic to me. Even now, with different partners, I don’t think they necessarily do anything super different with their acting. BUT… the chemistry is undeniable. And their nc scenes??? EXCUSE ME???? I was NOT expecting that. They definitely surprised me there.

The biggest problem for me was the writing. There were SO many holes and missing pieces that sometimes I was just sitting there thinking, “wait… HOW DID WE GET HERE?” Some scenes felt like important parts of the story had simply been cut out.

The SaifahZon storyline is probably the biggest example. It felt like half of their story was missing, which made everything feel really confusing. I understand the production was heavily affected by the covid-19 pandemic, so I can’t completely blame the series for that, and thankfully they eventually gave us the special episodes to fill in more of their story.

The other side characters, though… were REALLY side characters haha Most of them barely got any development, and I was especially disappointed because I wanted so much more of Japan and Tanthai. THEY WERE SO CUTE TT

Anyway... the series is so slow and frustrating at the beginning, messy in the writing and full of plot holes, but once it finally gets going, it becomes genuinely enjoyable. The chemistry between Zee and Saint absolutely carried a lot of this for me.

I really wanted to like this one more than I actually did.

The premise was honestly pretty interesting, and I liked the idea of the whole prince/servant dynamic, especially with the historical setting and all the possibilities that came with it.

BUT… it lost its impact way too quickly.

The story felt SO dragged out at times, and after a while I was basically just waiting for something to happen. The premise had potential, but the execution didn’t keep me interested enough, and the pacing made everything feel much longer than it needed to be.

And I’m sorry but… THE COUPLE DID NOT HELP. I just couldn’t see the chemistry there, and unfortunately when I’m not invested in the couple, a slow plot becomes approximately 500 times harder to survive. BTW I really like Seto Toshiki, specially in Senpai, This Can’t Be Love! and The End of the World with You, and Ogawa Fuminori it's cute so the problem to me it's definitely not the acting... I just didn't feel them as a couple...

There were some cute moments and I still think the idea behind the story could’ve worked really well, but it needed a MUCH better development and probably a lot less dragging things out.

ISTG this is one of those dramas where I kept thinking “if they had actually invested in this…” because the premise was SO good. Like, we get vampires, supernatural drama, romance and a ridiculously charming vampire like Lucifer...

The editing is questionable, the script definitely has its moments, the production feels extremely low-budget and I swear these people had approximately one outfit, three locations and a dream. BUT DESPITE ALL OF THAT, I actually enjoyed it so much!!

I mean, underneath all the questionable execution, there’s a genuinely interesting story here. If the plot had been properly developed, with a bigger budget, better pacing, stronger writing and more attention to the supernatural world, this could have been SUCH an amazing BL. And honestly, that’s what makes it frustrating. I could see the potential the entire time.

The story had so many elements that could’ve worked incredibly well, but everything felt a little rushed, underdeveloped or limited by the production. And I have to give them credit because they really did the most with what they had.

They had one outfit, questionable editing, a questionable script and a dream… and somehow they still managed to deliver something I genuinely had fun watching.

I’m honestly still not sure if this was one of my favorites or not because I REALLY enjoyed it. I laughed so much and had a great time watching it, but I think the whole gaming aspect got in the way of me enjoying it even more.

The thing is… I know absolutely NOTHING about games and, honestly, it’s not really something I’m interested in either. So there were quite a few moments where I was completely lost. For people who actually enjoy gaming, though, I can totally see this being a 10/10. The series clearly knew what it was doing and explored its main theme really well, especially toward the end. The problem was just that I personally wasn’t the target audience for that part.

I also wish JackTen had been given more attention. I really liked them, but as a secondary couple, they felt underdeveloped. I think giving them more screen time would have been a great way to give the main couple a little breathing room.

I absolutely LOVED TheeSoh, and I adore MaxkyBas, but eventually I started feeling like we were getting a little too much of them. And honestly, I think their relationship would have been even more enjoyable if the story had balanced their screen time with JackTen a little better.

Overall I had SO much fun watching this. The gaming storyline just wasn’t really for me, but I can appreciate how well the series explored its central theme. I loved the main couple, laughed a lot, and definitely enjoyed the ride — I just wish the secondary couple had been developed more.

I didn’t have a lot to say about it, but I had a good time watching it. It’s sweet, easy to watch, and has that simple, cozy vibe that makes it perfect when you just want something light and fluffy.

Nothing particularly groundbreaking or unforgettable, but I liked the characters, enjoyed the romance, and overall it was just a really cute little watch.

BUT i have to say: I’m genuinely mad that they had THIS much chemistry and we only got one tiny kiss. ONE. Like… why would you give me a couple with this much chemistry and then refuse to actually do anything with it??? I would have enjoyed this so much more if they had just given us a few more romantic moments between them.

That said, I really liked the story itself. I especially loved the use of the thread concept! It’s such an interesting idea, and I feel like we rarely see dramas actually explore it, so it gave the story something different and special.

I do think some parts needed more development, especially Dawei’s family story. The whole thing with his father felt a little rushed, like they suddenly dropped this huge piece of information on us without giving it enough time to really have an impact.

But overall, I really enjoyed it, it's a really cute drama with an interesting concept and AMAZING chemistry that was criminally underused. It was sweet, interesting and had a really cute couple… who deserved WAY more screen time and more kisses LOL.
