Spies and Special Ops

I find spy shows really fun to watch, whether it's the gadgets, the fights, the "guy behind the computer" support, the undercover missions, I'm not sure, all I can say, is that spy shows are always fun to watch. I decided to add special ops to this list as well cause... lets face it... they tend to have similarities. (... It also allowed me to make this list a bit bigger and I haven't actually watched that many yet...)

  • Infernal Affairs

    1. Infernal Affairs

    Hong Kong Movie - 2002

    9.5

This movie follows two main characters who have been placed undercover, one in the mafia, and the other in police. It really is a very well-crafted story that, although for the most part you know exactly what's going (or at least I did), one can't help but be drawn into it for it's entirety. There is clearly a reason that this movie has won a lot of awards, as has the American remake, The Departed.

  • Infernal Affairs 2

    2. Infernal Affairs 2

    Hong Kong Movie - 2003

    8.0

Being the sequel to Internal Affairs (I mean this just added the 2... surely you picked up on that, right? ;) ), this movie doesn't just throw out the undercover personnel that the other had (I mean if it did, pretty sure it would no longer be infernal affairs...), and thus it too is on this list.

This is basically a prequel to Infernal Affairs, but still watch in the numeral order.

  • Infernal Affairs 3

    3. Infernal Affairs 3

    Hong Kong Movie - 2003

    7.0

Rightio... check out Infernal Affairs II... this just added 1 to make Infernal Affairs III... this one picks up where the first left off, and there are still some peeps undercover.

As usual, the first is best, but if you liked the first, I'd recommend the basically prequel and sequel as you get to see more of the character's stories, and it just fills out their stories more.

  • IRIS

    4. IRIS

    Korean Drama - 2009, 20 episodes

    8.5

  • The K2

    5. The K2

    Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes

    9.5

K2 follows Kim Je Ha, a former solider finding jobs here and there that use his his skills. He ends up being hired as a bodyguard for some powerful people with secrets and questionable tactics. This is kinda in between honorable mention and actual list... there isn't any spying, but Je Ha has very good skills from his time as a soldier, and uses them a lot here...

  • Man to Man

    6. Man to Man

    Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes

    8.5

Let us introduce K, an extremely talented spy with a flair for the dramatic (que the random car explosion as explanation for his disappearance). He gets assigned a mission that requires him to get close to the world star Yeo Woon Guang, famous for his time as dark death and does a lot of action movies. This show is more of a comedy than being serious... like at all... which is kinda of a nice change in spy movies. Though this show does kinda have a lot of faults in it, it is also pretty fun to watch for the exact reason that there is very little to take seriously.
