KQ Entertainment (KQ 엔터테인먼트) decided to launch a second boy group after the success of ATEEZ. They introduced all the members in August 2022 and had them appear in the web series "Ready To One", documenting their training in Los Angeles, California. For several months, they were known only as KQ Fellaz 2.
In the show's last episode, they released the single "Geek", composed entirely by Kim Min Jae. The video was a homage to ATEEZ's single "From", also entirely self-composed.
He made his debut in March 2023 as the group's lead vocalist with their first EP, "House of Tricky: Doorbell Ringing", selling over 100,000 copies during the first week.
However, in May 2023, he suffered a serious knee injury that ruptured the cruciate ligament and required surgery. KQ announced he was going on hiatus to recover.
In August 2024, they debuted in Japan with the single "Tsuki (Lunatic)".
In January 2025, he rejoined after being on hiatus for 1 year and 8 months. The agency continues to monitor his health.
