Before focusing on music, he was heavily involved in politics and was selected as the youth committee chair of the Jeonnam Coalition for Climate Crisis Carbon Neutrality 2050 and was the team leader for an international volunteer program in Uganda. He also ran as an independent candidate for the Muan County Council in South Jeolla during the 8th Nationwide Local Elections.
In January 2026, he entered the Lemino singing survival show "Produce 101 Japan: Shinsekai", where he placed 4th in the finale, earning him a spot in the resulting project group. In August 2026, they pre-released the song "KO1KEYZ". They made their debut in Japan and South Korea simultaneously on October 7th, 2026.
