Joni Anwar is a Thai singer and actor born in Bangkok, Thailand, to a Scottish mother and an Indonesian father. His younger brother is singer-actor Anan Anwar.

Making his first foray into the entertainment industry acting in TV commercials, he soon signed with RS Promotion (อาร์.เอส.โปรโมชั่น ). In 1994, at the age of twelve, he debuted as half of the hip-hop dance duo Raptor (แร็พเตอร์) with the release of their first self-titled album.
