Kim Jong Wook
- Name: Kim Jong Wook
- Native name: 김종욱
- Nationality: South Korean
- Gender: Male
- Born: February 1, 1982
- Age: 44
The whole controversy was revealed in 2014 when Core Contents Media CEO, Kim Kwang Soo, was being investigated for embezzling funds that were supposed to be for trainees. During the investigation, prosecutors found evidence that part of the money that was embezzled came from the then CEO of Hyundai Swiss Savings Bank (now called SBI Savings Bank), Kim Kwang Jin, who is the father of Kim Jong Wook. Records showed that Kim Kwang Jin paid Core Contents Media 4 billion Won (approx. 3.92 million USD) for the debut and activities of his son. However, that money also came from embezzling after he granted illegal loans. Kim Kwang Jin was later sentenced to 4 years in prison but that investigation effectively ended his son's career as he was seen by the public as a "gold-digger" singer whose albums and activities were fabricated by his father's actions. So, he has been out of the industry since then.
