Yoo A Ra is a South Korean singer, dancer, actress, and former member of HELLO VENUS (헬로비너스). She dropped out of high school but later passed the High School Graduation Certification Examination. She then obtained an associate's degree in Practical Music from Seoul Institute of the Arts.

She made her debut in May 2012 as the group's leader and main vocalist with their first EP, "Venus". The group was originally managed by Tricell Media (트라이셀 미디어; a joint venture between Pledis Entertainment and Fantagio).

However, in July 2014, both companies decided to end their collaboration, and Tricell Media ceased operations. She remained part of Pledis Entertainment (플레디스 엔터테인먼트), but the group remained under the control of Fantagio, so she had to leave.

In February 2015, she made her debut as a musical actress with a role in the Japanese remake of the musical "Moon Embracing the Sun".

In June 2024, she announced she was diagnosed with cancer and was recovering after having surgery to remove it. She is currently an independent artist but her last credited work was in 2015.
