Hanbin was a contestant on Bighit's survival show I-LAND. He got eliminated near the end, but is continuing his journey as a trainee, and gained a fairly large fanbase from the show (called "Hannies"). He was the first Kpop trainee to get their own online fan event. He also started a dance group called "C. A. C" in Vietnam. In 2018, he won the contest "Vietnam Kpop random dance in public" on Ho Guom street in Ha Noi.
After leaving BELIF+ in June 2021, Hanbin joined Yuehua Entertainment and has debuted in 2022 as a member of the group TEMPEST.
