He is the 2023 Worlds silver medalist, four time medalist at the Four Continents Championship (gold in 2022, silver in 2025 and 2026 and bronze in 2024), the 2025 Asian Winter Games champion, the 2018-19 Grand Prix Final bronze medalist, a five-time Grand Prix medalist, a four-time Challenger Series medalist, as well as a ten-time consecutive South Korean national champion (2017-2026). At the junior level, he is the 2016-17 Junior Grand Prix Final bronze medalist and a two-time Junior Grand Prix gold medalist.
He has made various historical records and achievements. He is the first South Korean man in history to win and to medal at the Four Continents Championships and the Asian Winter Games, as well as the first South Korean man to medal at the World Championships, Grand Prix Final, Grand Prix Series and Junior Grand Prix Final. He is also the first South Korean man to win the Challenger Series and to qualify for the Grand Prix Final. Furthermore, he was not only the youngest man to land a quad jump at a recognized competition but also set a world record for the combined total points as a junior male.
He is a three-time Olympian representing South Korea. He competed as the youngest player in the men's singles at the 2018 Winter Olympics, where he qualified for the free skate in 20 years in South Korean men's singles history and placed fifteenth, which was the highest rank as a South Korean man. He then went on to finish in fifth overall at the 2022 Winter Olympics, breaking his own record and the highest rank in the history of male skaters in South Korea. He served as one of the two flag bearers for the Republic of Korea at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics opening ceremony. He finished in 4th place overall in his third Olympic appearance, just 0.98 points off the bronze medal position, and once again broke his own record as the highest rank achieved by a South Korean male skater at the Winter Olympics.
In addition, he worked as a child actor and featured in commercials and dramas before becoming an elite athlete. He has continuously appeared on a variety of TV shows, ice shows, fashion magazines, public events and advertisements.
On April 2, 2026, it was confirmed that he had signed an exclusive contract with Fantagio.
