Tang followed her parents to support education around the world and has already been to 11 countries since childhood. Her parents came to China for work when she was 10. At aged 14, she began learning the guitar and singing. By the time she reached adulthood at 18, she decided to stay in China. A year later, Tang officially entered China music scene. In 2010, she took part in the Jiangxi TV program "China Red Song Festival" and sang the Chinese song "Go Home".
Tang rose to fame in 2013 after participating in the CCTV variety show "Avenue of Stars" and won the weekly champion, July monthly champion and fourth place of the year. In 2014, she won the Best Foreign Singer Award at the 10th Anniversary Celebration of "Avenue of Stars"; and participated in the opening ceremony of the 10th Golden Eagle TV Festival.
In May 2014, Tang made her acting debut in the anti-Japanese war drama "The Last Battle".
It was reported on 30 March 2019 that Chinese singer Ju Hong Chuan admitted his relationship with Tang in an exclusive interview with NetEase Entertainment.
