In 1975, she was scouted for Fuji TV's "All-star Kazoku Taiko Utagassen" which she appeared in with his father. She became an idol singer after she graduated from junior high school because she wanted to focus on her studies first.
In 1980, she made her debut as an idol singer from CBS Sony with the song "Papa ga Watashi o Aishiteru". Her debut song was scheduled to have a CM tie-up for Unilever's shampoo "Timote", but it turned out that this product contained ingredients that were not approved in Japan, and the CM broadcast was canceled shortly before.
In 1981, she left Sun Music and stopped performing arts activities. In 1982, she re-debuted from her private office in Tachikawa. From 1984 to 1988, she regularly appeared on NHK Educational TV "Nakayoshi Rhythm". After that, she played an active part in family concerts singing nursery rhymes.
She developed malignant lymphoma in 2011, and remitted after anticancer drug treatment but relapsed a year and a half later. She was in a serious condition at one point but miraculously got better.
