He made his debut in November 2013 (using the stage name Hon) when he joined as the group's new vocalist with the digital single "Do You Feel Me". The group debuted in October 2012, but it was not very successful. E-HO Entertainment (이호이앤에프) began making changes to the lineup in 2013 and decided to add him in an attempt to increase their popularity.
However, he became involved in controversy in February 2014. A transgender woman posted on Facebook that a certain idol who had joined a group recently had ignored her after taking advantage of her resources. She alleged that both were long-time friends who had counseled each other and later progressed to a romantic relationship where he recorded their sexual activities without her consent.
The agency strongly denied the claims, and one week later, she admitted it was all a lie. She was drunk and depressed after he stopped contacting her when he debuted as an idol. So, out of spite of being ignored, she had too many drinks and posted those false accusations on her Facebook.
Despite the surrounding controversy, they released the single "Mr.Mr" a few weeks after his controversy. Fans noticed that it had the same name as GIRLS' GENERATION's comeback EP, "Mr.Mr." (released four days before). The agency's CEO later admitted that the single was indeed a diss of SM Entertainment, bringing some attention to his group.
However, he faced immense pressure from the scandal, and despite being innocent, he opted to leave the group at the end of February 2014.
He then ventured briefly into acting but is now a vlogger and YouTuber as part of the duo Seoulite Studio (서울라이트 스튜디오), posting about beauty tips, makeup, and fashion.
